History

DLJ was founded in 1993 by three prominent produce professionals. Their experience in wholesale and retail procurement, merchandising and operations totaled nearly 150 years.

They have been supported by a hand- picked management team that includes a former procurement manager of a major retail chain, a former head of sales and procurement for one of the largest potato and onion packers in the western U.S., and a former sales manager for several major grape and tree fruit shippers.

Its first customers were other distributors and Southern California based retail chains. Currently DLJ ships to more than 20 states, several countries and has working relationships with more than 100 shippers around the world.

DLJ has always adhered to a socially responsible approach to business and attracts dedicated and talented employees by offering an excellent salary structure, health care and 401K retirement program with profit sharing.
